I'm Rodney Wayne—a service-disabled veteran, critical care nurse, innovator, and the founder of K9 Alpha Science.

With over 38 years of frontline medical experience—from Navy trauma corpsman during Desert Storm to PICU, ICU, ER, Clinical Educator, and Flight Nurse—I’ve dedicated my life to solving problems in medicine. I’ve never been content with the status quo. I create solutions where none exist, focusing on proactive change rather than reactive care. My journey has earned me four U.S. patents, national innovation awards, and a track record of developing diagnostic tools now used across the VA hospital system. But my mission didn’t stop with human medicine.

When my service dog Charlie became my daily partner in recovery, I saw the gap in veterinary care—particularly in diagnostics for oxidative stress, aging, and chronic inflammation. His unwavering dedication to me sparked my determination to do everything possible to keep him healthy and by my side for as long as possible. That gap became my mission.

I developed uMDA-Vet™, uCu/Zn-Vet™, and Hcy-Vet™—non-invasive, science-backed diagnostics for oxidative stress and redox imbalance. These tools are FDA/CVM-recognized, prescription-only, and built with one purpose: give veterinarians the data they need to act early, treat proactively, and improve outcomes for every patient they serve.

This is more than a company. It’s a veteran-led, medically driven movement to modernize veterinary care at the cellular level.
